For the second year in a row, Owen Klassen of the Acadia basketball Axemen has been chosen an all-Canadian.
Klassen, a fourth-year 6 foot, 10 inch forward from Kingston ON., a second-team all-Canadian a year ago, was this time named to the first team.
Klassen had been previously recognized at the conference level as Defensive Player of the Year for a second straight year, as well as a first-team AUBC all-star.
One of the keys to Acadia’s success at both ends of the floor, he had a successful fourth season for the Axemen, averaging a ‘double-double’ of 16.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.
He was also second in the AUBC in blocked shots.
According to Axemen head coach Steve Baur, Klassen has been a key to the Acadia defence all season and is “a critical piece of our success as a program.”
