Search called off for flare report

A Cormorant helicopter was searching water off Queens County after a flare was sighted.

The search has been called off for the source of a flare seen off the coast of Queens County.

A Cormorant helicopter was searching an area east of Liverpool after a flare was reported by a concerned citizen, however did not turn up anything.

Rescue Coordination Centre officials confirmed a search was underway and that the Coast Guard ship Earl Grey was steaming from Halifax through high seas to get to the area. The ship has since turned around to head home.

There were no indications that any vessels were missing.

well lets all hope we dont get lost for more then a few hours because these guys apparently wont be around. see a flare have a 3 hour ride in the chopper ahh thats good boys weve done enough work today. makes ya sick!!!!!
