It was standing room only at the Rebekah Hall in Bear River Friday evening as the art show Love & Monsters opened to wide and enthusiastic acclaim. The open invitation exhibition drew pieces from Holland, Germany, the United States and from across Canada -- including nine pieces from British Columbia and numerouis works from throughout the Annapolis Valley.
Art included paintings, sculpture, photoography, paper art, and silk applique. There were 47 works in total.
The much-anticipated opening of the Ken Flett/Jon Welch-curated show included local wine, food, and several hours of animated conversation. Lawrence Powell introduced the show, noting his intrigue with the Love & Monsters theme and the potential for expressing it. He said the eclectic mix of works reflected the individual interpretations.
