On Friday, Feb. 15 a press conference was held at Queens Place Emera Centre, to bring out a few more details of the upcoming tribute.
Headlining the weekend is Queens County native Carroll Baker, a multiple award winning singer and song writer with over 40 years in the business. Baker recorded a video before hand to show during the conference.
"I can't wait to see you all, my family, my friends and my fans," she said.
The festival brings in over 800 people over the four day event, taking place from Aug. 14 to 18.
The festival organizers thanked the Mayor of Bridgewater and the chair of the South Shore Exhibition for the years the community put in hosting the tribute
Mayor David Walker said they always knew the festival would some day return to Queens County, but were glad they could look after it until a location was ready.
Tribute Co-Chair Charlotte White presented Mayor Christopher Clark with a Rhinstone Cowboy Hat, for the Region's financial contribution to the tribute.
Mayor Clarke said he was mayor when the Hank Snow tribute left the county 14 years ago, and says they were dismayed they could not provide adequate space for the festival. However now with Queens Place Emera Centre they finally have the facilities to bring back the popular event.
Ryan Cook was named the honourary Chair for the tribute, and he announced new to the festival this year would be a youth talent night. Cook will also be playing with Hank Snow's old band the Rainbow Ranch Boys for part of his performance.
