It was a fairly quiet week for Annapolis RCMP with 42 calls from February 4 through February 10. Among these were: four false 911s; five traffic accidents; and one domestic assault.
(Note: Due to the sensitive nature of cases concerning sexual assault, children’s welfare and mental health issues, not all calls are considered appropriate for publication.)
Following are a few of these calls:
-- February 4 at 11:54 a.m. Paradise. A bicycle was found and turned over to police.
-- February 4 at 7:34 p.m. Middleton. A purse was left behind by a customer. The owner returned and claimed the purse.
-- February 5 at 12:09 p.m. Middleton. Police were called to a landlord/tenant dispute over missing property.
-- February 6 at 4 p.m. Parker’s Cove. Police received two reports of a dangerous driver that almost struck another vehicle head on after passing on a blind hill. Police have information on the driver and are investigating further.
--February 6 at 4:53 p.m. Middleton. Police were advised of a report of harassment through text messages and phone calls.
-- February 6 at 10:20 p.m. Wilmot. Police received a report of an erratic driver on Highway 1 after a vehicle ran a red light in Kingston.
-- February 7 at 9:06 a.m. South Williamston. Police were asked to check on an overdue traveller coming from BC.
-- February 7 at 11:55 a.m. Clementsport. Threats over monies owed were reported to police.
-- February 7 at 12:01 p.m. Maitland Bridge. Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle at Kejimkujik Park. The vehicle had broken down and arrangements were being made for its removal.
-- February 7 at 6:42 p.m. Wilmot. A complaint of property damage was reported after a mailbox was found broken.
-- February 8 at 9:07 a.m. Highway 1 at Annapolis Royal. A neighbor reported seeing a suspicious vehicle parked at a residence where no one was home. Police learned that prior arrangements had been made for someone to park there.
–Feb. 8 at 2:21 p.m. Bridgetown. Police received a report of an unsafe driver on Highway 1 heading towards Bridgetown. It was speeding and passing unsafely.
-- February 8 at 2:28 p.m. Middleton. Concern was reported about a senior who suffers from dementia driving.
-- February 8 at 5:30 p.m. Bridgetown. Break and enter was reported to a residence. Some cash and a safe stolen were stolen.
-- February 9 at 12:29 p.m. Meadowvale. A complaint of trespassing was reported.
-- February 9 at 3:41 p.m. Brickton. Police were called to look into a matter of livestock not being cared for adequately in this cold weather.
-- February 9 at 3:58 p.m. Wilmot. Threats made over Facebook were reported.
-- February 10 at 7:35 a.m. Upper Granville. Police were called about horses being outside in the cold.
