Kings County ended

Blowing snow warning for

Kings County issued

This is a warning that an extended period of blowing snow with poor visibilities is occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

An intense low pressure system southeast of Nova Scotia will continue to move eastward today. Snow associated with the system will taper to flurries this morning for most of Mainland Nova Scotia as the system pulls away. A blowing snow warning is in effect for central regions of Mainland Nova Scotia until the strong winds subside later this morning.

Blizzard warnings are continued for Eastern Nova Scotia including Cape Breton Island where snow will continue today with very strong winds giving reduced visibilities in blowing snow. Conditions will improve for these regions this evening.

Also the Southern Gulf of St Lawrence and Northumberland Strait are mainly ice covered and over these regions strong winds will push pack ice into north to northeast facing shorelines today.
