In its sixth year, the Nova Scotia Winter Icewine Festival has morphed into a winter wine festival to celebrate this province’s award-winning wines.
Events begin on Feb. 7 with the Fire and Ice Festival at Kingstec in Kentville. There will be a wine tasting, culinary delights, music, carvings and more at the NSCC fundraiser. The evening gets underway at 7 p.m.
On the weekend, a variety of winter activities start at Kings County wineries. Luckett Vineyards and Grand Pré Winery are pairing up snowshoes with Brian Adams of We’re Outside Outdoor Outfitters.
Sleigh Rides and a bonfire are available at Gaspereau Vineyards, starting at noon. The winery boutique and a complimentary tasting bar are open Feb 7-17, 10 a.m. -5 p.m.
L’Acadie Vineyards in Gaspereau is open on Sunday from noon–4 p.m.
Several local restaurants also have special pairings of food and wine to offer this coming weekend.
