The Yarmouth Fire Department responded to a structural fire at 6 Pleasant St. Friday afternoon that spread from a chimney fire.

Nova Scotia Power was called to disconnect power to the building. Although there were occupants in the home when the fire started, they were able to escape with a few belongings.

The Red Cross has been called to assist the family.
