General manager Julie Walters says the organization views the Wharf Rat Rally as something that can benefit all of Southwestern Nova Scotia.
“Digby is at just about the maximum capacity that it can handle and there is a need to expand this event to other areas. Yarmouth & Acadian Shores is a perfect fit,” she said.
In order to have a coordinated effort, YASTA is forming a committee to work at planning events for the region.
“We need an event or a series of events that will draw bikers from Digby for the day,” she said.
“There are many ideas floating around and it’s time to make some of them happen.”
Group sales coordinator Rick Allwright will lead the effort. He says the community will have to band together to create a “must attend” event for any biker.
YASTA is looking for volunteers, especially those interested in motorcycles, to join their committee. Email: wharfrat@yasta.ca or call: 902-742-8130 or 902-740-5251.
