Stolen car crashed; vandals busy in Bridgetown

The Annapolis RCMP received 95 calls from November 12 through November 19. Among these were seven false alarms, one false alarm, three domestic assaults, three traffic accidents, and nine mental health incidents.

Following are a few of the calls:

-- November 12 at 3:05 a.m. Bridgetown. A caller reported hearing someone in the basement. Police attended but no one else was found in the house.

-- November 12 at 12:34 p.m. Middleton.  Police received a report that a group of youth were pushing each other and swearing. Police attended but everyone had gone.

-- November 12 at 1:28 p.m. 101 Highway at Deep Brook. Police received a call that a metal rack was left on the roadway. Police checked it out, but someone had picked it up.

-- November 12 at 2:06 p.m. Bear River. An unattended grass fire was reported. The fire department attended and put out the fire.

-- November 12 at 4:17 p.m. Cornwallis. Police received a report that group of youth were loitering outside the mall and bothering people.

-- November 12 at 4:37 p.m. South Farmington. Police received a report that a car was being driven around with no insurance. Police patrolled but did not locate the vehicle. The investigation continues.

-- November 12 at 6:33 p.m. Lequille. A resident reported a phone call from someone claiming to be from Bell Aliant. The caller wanted personal information so the resident hung up.

-- November 12 at 6:56 p.m. Middleton. A disturbance was reported after two males were heard shouting in a residence. One male was arrested and charges are possible.

-- November 13 at 8:58 a.m. Arlington West. A break and enter into a business was reported. A cash box was stolen. The police investigation continues.

-- November 13 at 10:45 a.m. Granville Beach. A CD player was found in the ditch. The owner is not known.

-- November 13 at 10:00 a.m. Highway 1 in Wilmot. A disturbance was reported when a motorist yelled profanity while driving by.

-- November 13 at 11:18 a.m. Wharf Road in Bear River. A quantity of oil was reported stolen from an oil tank.

-- November 13 at 12:11 p.m. Bridgetown on Faye Road. A car was reported for driving around with no muffler. Police located the vehicle and instructed the owner to fix the muffler.

-- November 13 at 12:15 p.m. Middleton. A hit-and-run was reported in the parking lot at the hospital.

-- November 13 at 9:21 p.m. Middleton. Police received a report of a possible impaired driver. Police attended but the vehicle was not found.

-- November 13 at 10:25 p.m. Arlington West. Police investigated an incident after shots were heard and a vehicle was found damaged.

-- November 14 at 9:41 a.m. Upper Clements. Police are investigating a fraud where a person skipped out on a cab fare.

-- November 14 at 10:47 a.m. Bridgetown. A firearm was turned in for destruction.

­-- November 14 at 11:39 a.m.  Bridgetown. Police were called to a breach of a peace bond. The matter was resolved.

-- November 14 at 1:01 p.m. Clementsport. A rollover accident was reported after a driver swerved to avoid another vehicle. Minor injuries were reported.

-- November 14 at 4:43 p.m. Springfield. Police were called in regards to a dispute over dogs fighting.

-- November 14 at 10:29 p.m. Clementsvale. Police were asked to deal with an unwanted guest who refused to leave. Police attended but the person had left.

-- November 14 at 11:47 p.m. West Dalhousie. Police were called to a disturbance. One person was arrested by the police. The investigation continues.

-- November 15 at 4:06 a.m. Wilmot. Police and the fire department were called to a trailer fire.

-- November 15 at 6:32 a.m. Port Lorne. Police received a call concerning a hiker who was lost and cold. The person was found and taken to hospital.

-- November 15 at 8:45 a.m. Clementsvale. A threatening phone call was reported.

-- November 15 at 8:38 p.m. Lawrencetown. A noise complaint was reported. A resident reported that youth were building a camp in the bush and the hammering was disturbing her.

-- November 15 at 6:55 p.m. Wilmot on Highway 1. Unsafe passing on a double line with oncoming traffic was reported. A license plate was obtained and police are looking it.

-- November 15 at 10:00 p.m. Middleton. A hit-and-run was reported in the parking lot of the hospital.

-- November 15 at 10:13 p.m. Bridgetown. A complaint of property damage was reported when a window was hit by BB gun in an apparent drive-by shooting.

-- November 15 at 10:22 p.m. Bridgetown. Police received another call of a window struck by BBs.

-- November 16 at 12:09 a.m. Lequille. A disturbance was reported. The person had been drinking and was yelling. The person accepted police advice to go back inside for the night.

-- November 16 at 10:40 a.m. Bridgetown. Police received a call about a driver who constantly speeds. Police located the driver and issued a warning.

-- November 16 at 12:46 p.m. Nictaux. Police were called about an abandoned vehicle. It turns out the vehicle is parked while the owner carpools to work.

-- November 16 at 2:48 p.m. Middleton. A car was reported stolen. Police located it on Highway 101 near Bridgetown. After a short pursuit, the driver was arrested and is in jail facing charges

-- November 16 at 3:06 p.m. Highway 101 at Lequille. A dangerous driver was reported but not located.

-- November 16 at 4:46 p.m. Bridgetown. A computer scam was reported. A resident had received a Nigerian letter in his email.

-- November 16 at 9:58 p.m. Meadowvale. A tree stand and trail camera was reported stolen from old logging road.

-- November 17 at 12:06 a.m. Middleton. Police were called to a group of people fighting outside the local pub.

-- November 17 at 1:04 a.m. Deep Brook. Police were called to a fire at a residence. It is believed to have been a chimney fire.

-- November 17 at 7:36 a.m. Bridgetown. Two neighbors reported their vehicles were damaged overnight. There were scratches and broken wiper blades.

-- November 17 at 8:24 a.m. Bridgetown. The Bridgetown Home Hardware reported a sign was vandalized overnight.

-- November 17 at 2:48 p.m. Highway 1 at Bridgetown. Mailboxes were reported damaged.

-- November 17th at 3:48 p.m. Middleton. A gas-and-go was reported after a driver left without paying for gas. Police are investigating further.

-- November 18 at 12:49 a.m. Nictaux. Police received a report that a male was causing a disturbance and had been drinking.

-- November 18 at 2:51 a.m. Middleton. A noise complaint was reported after someone was playing loud music. The music was turned down upon police request.

-- November 18 at 10:19 a.m. Bridgetown. Police were called about an unwanted person on private property. Police are looking into it.

-- November 18 at 1:09 p.m. Lawrencetown. A vehicle was damaged overnight.

-- November 18 at 3:37 p.m. Middleton. Police received a call about a possible break and enter. It turned out to be former tenants picking up belongings.

-- November 19 at 1:57 a.m. Suspicious activity was reported around a vacant house. Lights were on. Police attended but no one was in the area.
