Jan Clattenburg started her skating career in Scotland, where she became the Scottish National Champion. She never lost her passion and dedication to skating. Upon her arrival in Canada she served as an executive member for clubs from coast to coast, always offering encouraging words to volunteers and skaters. As a judge/evaluator, Jan was able to share her wealth of knowledge with everyone from club to national level.
Before losing her courageous battle with cancer in 2012, Jan saw her dream of a new home for the Queens County Blades realized in Queens Place. This award has been named after a woman who influenced everyone around her with her love for skating and her desire to have every skater be the best that they could be.
