The Acadia Axemen snapped their four-game losing streak Friday night with a 4–2 victory over the Dalhousie Tigers in university hockey action in Wolfville.
Joel Ridgeway and Andrew Clark gave Acadia a 2-0 lead heading to the third period. The Tigers tied it at 9:33 of the third period, but Joe Gaynor restored the lead with a goal 32 seconds later and Alex Beaton iced it two minutes later.
Recording assists were Clark, Gaynor, Dustin Ekelman, Liam Heelis, Cullen Morin, Paul Kurceba and Adam McIllwraith.
In other Friday games, UNB defeated UPEI 4-1, Moncton defeated St. Thomas 4-3 in overtime and St. F.X. edged Saint Mary's 5-4 in a shootout.
Acadia now gets ready to close out their regular season Saturday night in Halifax against Saint Mary’s. Gametime is 7 p.m.
