The Bear River Health Clinic will be hosting walk-in clinics in February and March.

Dr. Navdeep Mangat will be at the clinic from 12 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays starting Feb. 14 until the end of March.

No appointment is necessary and patients need only bring a valid health card.

"There is a big demand for this here in the community," says Teresa Dawson, the clinic coordinator. "This is a very very welcome addition to the services we provide."

Dr. Ron Harding and a nurse practitioner have been seeing patients every other week but neither is taking any new patients.

Dr. Mangat has been helping out with emergency room duties at Digby General since November on a temporary basis.

"This arrangement also let her give the area a look to consider a longer commitment," says Digby's site manager Hubert D'Entremont.

Dr. Nav has also looked after the monthly Well Men's and Well Women's clinics while Dr. Boden has been away for the winter.
