There were 108 reports made to RCMP in Kings County between Jan. 23 and 26.

Jan. 23

A window was reported smashed on a vehicle parked in New Minas.

A 1999 Dodge Caravan was reported stolen from Waterville.

A suspicious man in a black hoodie was reported for the second time in North Kentville.

A bank patron who left $60 behind at an ATM in New Minas returned to find it gone.

A 71-year-old woman was reported for almost causing a collision while driving. She was stopped in Greenwich and found to be impaired. The woman will appear in court in April.

Jan. 24

Several tickets were issued at a checkpoint in

Wolfville.

Police are investigating an 8:53 a.m. collision at a Coldbrook intersection. A driver hit a school bus and failed to stop.

A residence in North Kentville was broken into and some gold jewelry taken.

A 20-year-old woman was stopped for shoplifting in Wolfville. Three days after a party on Prospect Street in Wolfville, someone reported the theft of a jacket and cellphone.

A loose load aboard a truck on Highway 101 left a bale of hay on the road. A car hit it and went off the pavement.

Police are investigating a child welfare complaint and they assisted at a medical emergency.

A report involving the theft of utilities is being investigated in Canning.

A wallet was found in Wolfville and turned over to police.

At 6:46 p.m. two men in suits going door to door in South Berwick were reported as suspicious. They were gone when police arrived.

At 10:10 p.m. a driver discovered a smashed window and a purse stolen out of a parked vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the Festival Theatre lot in Wolfville.

Jan. 25

At a checkpoint just after midnight a newly licenced 20-year-old driver was stopped and showed signs of impairment. He was given a seven-day suspension and a ticket.

Some suspicious smelling kerosene canisters were found on Elm Avenue in Wolfville.

A lawn tractor, pressure washer and copper were stolen from a shed in New Minas.

A toolbox worth $400 was stolen from a locked truck while it was in a North Kentville repair shop.

A man in his 50s was stopped in Waterville while trespassing at night. He also failed to comply with conditions.

A girl in Canning assaulted another youth.

An altered prescription was reported from a Kingston pharmacy.

A suspicious person came into a Cambridge business claiming to be from Health Canada.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at a Greenwood drinking establishment around 8:30 p.m. He was causing a disturbance at a gambling machine.

An allegation was received that a Greenwood restaurant was serving liquor to underage youth.

At 10:50 p.m. a youth was reported on Highway 101 near Greenwood hitchhiking in the middle of the road.

There were three mental health calls, including one from a local high school, and one domestic incident. A 46-year-old man was arrested for assault.

Two family relations reports were received. One of them involved an assault.

Five calls came from youth group homes and three of them involved out-of-control youth.

Four reports of harassing text messages or phone calls were received. Two landlord/tenant complaints came in and one about an ex-tenant trespassing.

Collisions occurred on Canaan Mountain Road and Lockhartville.

Checkpoints were conducted in Wolfville and on both ends of the Deep Hollow Road near Greenwich and White Rock. There were four driving complaints.

There was one false alarm and one false 911 call.

Community policing officer Const. Blair MacMurtery gave two presentations last week. He spoke at the rehab centre about cyber safety and at a seniors’ lunch about Crime Stoppers.
