A man wanted in connection with Tuesday's armed robbery of an Aylesford store was taken into custody without incident at a home in Brickton this afternoon.
Earlier today Kings RCMP had asked the public to be on the lookout for Richard William Salsman, 44, and said that a warrant had been issued for his arrest in relation to the robbery of the Aylesford Needs Convenience Store at about 10:55 p.m. on January 24.
The investigation into the robbery revealed that a lone man with a long gun entered the store and demanded money and tobacco products. Police said the clerk complied and the suspect fled the store with an undetermined amount of money and cigarettes.
Police said Salsman, just over six feet tall and weighing 170 pounds, was considered armed and dangerous and advised members of the public to not approach him under any circumstances and to call RCMP immediately. He was also the subject of a Crime Stoppers reward of up to $2000.
Salsman was arrested at the Brickton residence at 4:45 p.m. today. The residence was on the north side of Highway 1 just west of Mount Hanley Road between The former Roberts Mechanical and a construction materials recycling business. A resident in the area said a woman rents the mobile home.
