There were 97 reports made to RCMP in Kings County between Jan. 16 and 19.

Jan. 16

There were two separate shoplifting incidents in New Minas.

A vehicle collided with a deer in the Greenwood area. Later after a collision in Kingston, one driver was charged with failing to stop at a red light.

A four-car pileup in Kingston around 6 p.m. closed Highway 1 for about two hours. Minor injuries resulted and the collision was blamed on the setting sun.

Roommates were reported fighting over property.

There was an Off Road Vehicle Act complaint in Auburn.

Jan. 17

A TV was stolen in a break-in that occurred in Coldbrook.

A 22-year-old woman was sent to hospital after a vehicle rolled over near Upper Dyke around 10:20 a.m.

Some drugs were destroyed in Wolfville.

A dispute concerning the sale of firewood over the Internet was reported.

Some money was stolen at a Kingston business.

A suspicious person was reported on the side of Highway 101 near Hants Border.

Two reports of various scams came in.

There was an attempted break-in in North Kentville.

A landlord/tenant dispute needed mediation.

Four tires were stolen from an insecure residence in North Kentville.

Jan. 18

Four vehicles, in violation of the winter parking ban in Wolfville, were towed just after midnight.

An unwanted person was visiting a seniors’ residence in Berwick.

An aggressive dog was a problem in Hall’s Harbour.

A plow and a vehicle collided in Hillaton around 1 p.m.

A fraud at a business in Coldbrook was reported. A theft took place at a Wolfville business.

Police stopped a vehicle on Highway 101 and the elderly driver allowed it to roll back.

There was a break-in at a residence on Gaspereau Avenue in Wolfville.

A woman got off the bus in Wolfville around 8:30 p.m. and began looking for money and work.

A suspicious person was reported around 10:30 p.m. near a vacant house in Waterville. Then an hour later a loud party was problematic in the same village.

Jan. 19

A truck was reported stolen around 2:30 a.m. in Black Rock. It was found later in a ditch and police located the intoxicated owner later at home.

A vehicle partially blocking a roadway in Wolfville was towed at 6:30 a.m.

Five domestic incidents occurred. Two men, aged 25 and 33, were arrested separately for assault.

Two mental health calls came in.

Three family relations assaults were reported. One case involved two brothers, 12 and 13, getting into a fight. The younger brother, who was choked and blacked out, went to hospital. Their mother told police that she often video tapes the pair fighting and posts the clips to Facebook. Further investigation is underway.

There were two youth group home calls to respond to. Harassing phone calls about a debt and harassing text messages were reported. Three reports of threats were received.

Seven driving complaints came in, including speeding concerns in North Kentville. Collisions took place in Greenwich and Berwick.

Checkpoints were set up on Middle Dyke Road at New Minas and in Greenwich.

There were three false 911 calls and one false alarm.

The New Minas-based Kings Citizens Patrol clocked 6,993 kilometres during 2011.

The volunteer organization made a total of 85 patrols.

Const. Blair MacMurtery said the patrol logged 703 hours. The volunteers made more than a thousand assigned property checks and 1,419 unassigned checks.
