Graduation is right around the corner and students are busily preparing for the great events that lead up to the big ceremony.

The athletic banquet will occur on June 5 at 6:30 p.m. This is a big celebration for all the NKEC sports teams and athletic individuals. The event gives students and coaches recognition for all of their efforts made during their athletic seasons.

NKEC Prom takes place on June 14. The prom committee has been working hard to create a memorable night taking place in the Roaring Twenties. Everything from the food and the entranceway to the photo booth has been carefully thought through and given a historical 1920s twist. The day will start early for the students who are attending prom as they prepare for the event. Students will gather together in the gardens of the Irving Center to get pictures before heading to the school to parade to the prom, making an entrance in cars, tractors and boats. Once students have arrived in the building, they then prepare to walk down the stairs at the announcement of their names and then for their first dance. Prom doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the prom will take place from 8:30-10 p.m. Fireworks will end the celebration.

A baccalaureate service will take place at the Centerville Baptist Church on June 22. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. This event is planned and run by the grads.

The graduation ceremony doors will open at 6 p.m. and will start at 7 p.m. After the ceremony, there will be a reception held in the cafeteria catered by Grade 11 students and their parents. Afterwards, students will head to their Safe Grad, which will begin at 10:30 p.m. and run all night long at the school and Canning arena.
