Susan Mary KAULBACK (Douthwright)

Age 67, of Dartmouth, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Elaine Douthwright. Susan was a long-time member of East Hants Bluegrass Association. She was a hard-worker behind the scenes at Family Reunions and gatherings. She always knew what needed to be done and usually had it done before others even knew what was needed. She enjoyed taking pictures of the people around her and sharing prints with them. She seldom missed your birthday and cards were opened carefully to avoid her confetti storms. Known for the best hamburgers in the whole wide world, her cooking skills were legend in the family. Think fudge, baked beans and oriental salad. Susan is survived by her husband, Mahlon "Mel" Kaulback; sons, Darren (Kelly Crooks) Kaulback, Jason (Tracy Dempsey) Kaulback; granddaughter, Lindsay Kaulback, and great-grandson, Logan. She is also survived by her sisters, Theresa (Les) Fillatre of Dartmouth; Sheila Douthwright (Darrell Toole) of Panama; and Marilyn (Brian) MacKay of Upper Stewiacke; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A musical Celebration of Susan's Life will be held for friends and family on Friday, September 21st from 4-7 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home Reception Centre, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada.
