Mark Weatherbie

Mark Weatherbie, age 59, of Thorburn, formerly of Westville, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 in the Halifax Infirmary with his loving family by his side. Born in New Glasgow, on September 10, 1959, he was a son of the late George and Dorothy (Mahoney) Weatherbie, of Westville. Mark was employed as an ice plant operator at the Ivor MacDonald Memorial Rink, Thorburn, especially enjoying the little children learning to skate. Mark had many hobbies, some of which included reading, writing, as well as collecting models. He was also a technology buff who cherished his computers and video games. In his down time, and relaxed moments, he loved to watch his favourite television programs while indulging in his preferred snacks. Most will remember him for his sense of humour, quick wit, and infectious laugh. Mark will be dearly missed by his wife Lorraine (MacGregor); son Richard “Rick” (Aaron Smith), New Glasgow; sisters, Janis MacDonald (Bob), Tantallon; Theresa MacGregor (Kenny), Thorburn; brother, Leo (Lucie), Calgary; special sister-in-law Tracy MacGregor, Thorburn; as well as several sisters and brothers in law and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother George and sister Lisa; and father and mother-in-law Arnold and Aileen MacGregor. There will be no visitations or funeral service by request.
