Marie ‘Priscilla’ Covin

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Priscilla Covin, beloved sister and aunt, 92, of Montreal, formerly of West Arichat, which occurred at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, on February 23, 2018. Born September 18, 1925 in West Arichat, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Emily (Fougere) Covin. Priscilla will be fondly remembered for her love of nature and animals. Her passion for animals was clearly evident in the way she cared for her beloved dog Scotty. She enjoyed playing cards, visiting her family in Cape Breton, the occasional trip to the casino and walking her dog. She is survived by her sister, Lottie Shaheen, Sydney, NS; sister-in-law, Mary Covin, West Arichat, NS, and nieces, Brenda Fraser, Sydney, NS and Kathleen Jeffrey, Louisdale, NS. She was predeceased by her sisters, Laura, Evangeline, Evelyn and Violet; brothers, Leo, Ernest, Amedee, Harold and Rudolphe, and her special friend, Lloyd Labbe. Priscilla will be missed by her extended family the Goldsteins in Montreal whom she loved dearly. She will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews as well as her close friend Lorna. Funeral Mass will take place Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church in Louisdale with Father Joe MacKenzie, officiating. Cremation has taken place. Burial will follow at a later date. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to Richmond Education Centre & Academy Breakfast Program. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H.
