Marie Anne (Poirier) CORMIER

We are saddened to announce the death of Marie Anne Cormier, age 95 of Chéticamp, who passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 in Foyer Père Fiset Guest Home, Chéticamp. Born in Chéticamp, she was a daughter of the late Placide and Marguerite "Peggy" (Romard) Poirier. Marie Anne worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in Chéticamp in the laundry department before her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne's Society. She was married to the late Louis Paul Cormier and together they raised two sons. She is survived by her son, Simon "Emile" (Lucienne) Cormier, Windsor Junction; grandchildren, Simon Emile Cormier Jr., Jennifer Michelle Pierre, Amanda Cormier; great-grandchildren, Chantal Cormier, John Forbes, Jailani Patrice Pierre, Tres Troy States-Cormier; daughter-in-law, Diane Cormier. Predeceased by her husband, Louis Paul Cormier; son, Marcel Cormier; brothers, Mederick and Eddie John Poirier; sisters, Marie Résine "Rose" Poirier, Sadie Jane Chiasson, Louisa LeFort and Marie Emma Aucoin. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 26th at 2 p.m. in Église Saint-Pierre, Chéticamp with Father Peter LeBlanc officiating.
