Funeral service for the late John Edward McEachern, 75, Halifax, formerly of North Grant, Antigonish County, was held June 26 in St. Ninian Cathedral, Antigonish, with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Funeral service for the late John Edward McEachern, 75, Halifax, formerly of North Grant, Antigonish County, was held June 26 in St. Ninian Cathedral, Antigonish, with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. McEachern died June 23, 2018, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Readers at the funeral Mass were George England and Darren Fougere. Hayden Fougere and Donnie Fougere presented the offertory gifts. Eucharistic minister was Angela Fougere. Music was provided by Margaret MacGregor MacDonald and Noel Fougere. Urn bearers were Donnie and Caroline Fougere. Born October 8, 1942, in Halifax, he was a son of the late Jack and Edna (Doyle) McEachern. He resided at Twin Cities Villa most of his life, then later at Admiral Long Term Care, Dartmouth. He was an avid Montreal Canadian and Toronto Blue Jays fan. He is survived by two sisters, Maureen (George) England, Moncton, New Brunswick; Caroline (Donald) Fougere, North Grant; nephews and niece, Darren Fougere, Brent and Selinda England.
