James William 'Buck' Hickey — North Sydney

James William “Buck” Hickey, age 81, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Northside General Hospital. Born in North Sydney on November 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Pius and Emma (Hawley) Hickey. Buck worked at Marine Atlantic in North Sydney until his retirement. He was actively involved in hockey for most of his life as a player and as a coach. He is survived by his wife, Alice (Darrow); three children, Sharon, Jim and Blair and their families. Also surviving are his siblings, Cecil, Mary, Pearl, Betty, Viola, Joan and Gladys. As per his request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Arrangements are under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care at the Northside Harbourview Hospital Foundation.
