Frances Brown — Falmouth

Frances Brown
BROWN – Frances Marie, age 86, of Falmouth, formerly of Kempt Shore, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Windsor Elms Nursing Home in Falmouth. Born in Kempt Shore on July 26, 1930, she was the only child of the late Raymond & Lillian (Johnston) Mosher. Frances taught school in Bramber, Cheverie, Port Wallace, Kempt Shore, and Summerville and the G.E.D. courses at the Hants Shore Health Centre. She was Past Matron and Treasurer of Fairfield Chapter, O.E.S., Windsor. She was active in the local United Church as well as numerous community groups, and was organist in the local Baptist Church. Frances is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Leland Brown; daughter, Karen (Stephen) Rick, Summerville; grandchildren, Tamarrah (Jason Smith) Hanson, Quesnel, B.C. ; Quinn (Wendy) Rick, Union Corner; and Erin (Craig) Brown, Summerville; her great-grandchildren, Chad (Sarah Smith) Hollett, Samantha Cochrane, Colt Hanson, Haley and Mark Brown, and Brody and Carlee Rick; great-great-granddaughter, Tennyson Hollett, sister-in-law, Marion Drysdale, Herring Cove; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Frances’ Life was held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Centre Burlington Hall. Private family committal at Avonview Cemetery, Kempt Shore. All the people who work at the Elms Nursing Home are very caring and warm, and at the same time, professional. We could not have had better people helping “Franie” and us during this difficult part of her life’s journey. A special heartfelt thank you to the staff of Osprey 3 from the whole family.
