Donald ‘Donnie’ Rideout

We regret to announce the sudden passing of Donnie Rideout, age 76, on Monday, May 14, 2018 at home. Born in Sydney Mines on August 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Bond and Myrtle (Snow) Rideout. Donnie worked at Brookside Cemetery in Sydney Mines all his life. He was always there to lend a hand or find a lot. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Dolores (Campbell) Rideout. Also left to mourn are his sisters, Florence, Sydney Mines and Bernice, Dartmouth. Besides his parents, Donnie was predeceased by his daughter, Tracey on April 24, 2018; brothers, Val, Clarence and Fred, and sisters, Margaret and Lorette. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of his life will take place Saturday, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Nick Phillips officiating.
