Clyde Hennigar — Yarmouth

HENNIGAR, Clyde - Carleton, passed away March 13, 2018 in Veterans Place, Yarmouth. Born January 10, 1925, the oldest son of the late Dr. Clyde S Hennigar and E. Marguerite Ulhman. Having joined the army at the age of 17, he was a WWII veteran who served overseas with the Canadian Kangaroos, 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment. His deployment and battles were served entirely in Germany, where he also took part in the liberation of Holland. He attended Carleton's two room school and KCS in Windsor, NS. He was a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion #61, Yarmouth Agricultural Society, Carleton Fire Department, Carleton Cemetery and the Carleton United Baptist Church. His happiest moments were spent on his wood lots or in his gardens. He is survived by brother Ross, Ottawa; son Daniel (Cindy), Canaan; daughter Rebecca (Wayne), Yarmouth; son Thomas (Linda), Ontario; son Christopher, Ontario, daughter Lisa (Joe), Kemptville; son Timothy (Sue), Carleton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his loving wife Ilene Richardson, infant daughter Angela Rose and sister Patricia Lindsay. A graveside service will take place April 13, 2018, at 2 p.m., in the Carleton Cemetery, Rev Johan Eichhorn officiating. Refreshments to be served following the graveside service from 3 - 5 pm at the Carleton Fire hall. Donations in Clyde’s memory to be made to the Carleton Cemetery. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth.
