A. Lorraine HIGBY (Wasson)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother. She passed away with her family by her side in Nakile Home for Special Care in Glenwood on September 9, 2018. She was born in Parrsboro on March 18, 1932, to Leonard and Ada Wasson-Crosby. Lorraine was predeceased by both parents; as well as by her stepfather, Arnold Crosby; sister, Shirley Crosby; brother, Leonard Crosby, as well as by her loving husband of 63 years, Irvin Higby; son, John Irvin Higby and daughter, Linda Loretta Higby. She will be greatly missed by her children, Joyce (Larry) Blades, Yarmouth; Virginia (Wayne) Fitzgerald, Melbourne; Sandra (Alonzo) Goodwin, Argyle; and Donna (Randy) Outhouse, Port Maitland. Lorraine is survived by her siblings, Betty Muise, Arnold "Sunny" Crosby, St. Clair (Becky) Crosby, Walter (Dianne) Crosby, Charles "Tick" (Irene) Crosby, Jean "Dolly" (Paul) Wentzell, Geraldine "Sis" (Russell) Redfurn and special cousin, Lorraine (Harvey) Hamilton, all of Yarmouth. She will be missed by her grandchildren, John Michaels, Yarmouth; Chris Fitzgerald, Fort McMurray; Michelle Hamm, Kingston; Scott Blades, Yarmouth; Samantha Surette, Pinkney's Point; Sarah d'Entremont, Argyle; Joel Goodwin, Eel Brook; Amanda Outhouse, Port Maitland, as well as her great-grandchildren, Amity Harris, Jamie Higby, Hunter and Ryan Fitzgerald, Michael Blades, Cohen and Maria d'Entremont, Cheyanne and Natalie Goodwin. A special thank you to all that gave such great care to our mother at Nakile Home for Special Care. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A visitation will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 13th in Salvation Army Community Church, Brunswick Street, Yarmouth, immediately followed by a service at 2 p.m. We request that there be family flowers only, but in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice.
