SHELBURNE COUNTY, N.S. – At 6:40 p.m. this evening, the Shelburne RCMP were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision on Highway 103 in Jordan Falls.
According to an RCMP media release, when police arrived on scene they located a truck off the road on fire. The Jordan Fire department attended and extinguished the vehicle fire.
The driver, who was the lone occupant, died at the scene.
An RCMP Collision Analyst was called to examine the scene for evidence.
Highway 103 between Exit 25 and Jordan Branch Road was closed and traffic was being re-routed around the accident scene. The highway was expected to be closed for at least five hours.
The Transportation Department is assisting with the highway detour.
The investigation is ongoing. The age and gender of the driver was not released at the time of this posting.
“Our thoughts are with the victim's family at this difficult time,” the media release said.
