Man dies after being removed from Glace Bay house fire this morning

A man died after being pulled from a fire at 43 Concord St. in Glace Bay just after 1 a.m. Monday. The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.

GLACE BAY, N.S. — A 54-year-old man is dead following a structure fire on Concord Street early this morning. 

Cape Breton Regional Police are reporting that the man was found inside the duplex by police and fire fighters not long after they responded to the report of a fire at 1:02 a.m.
The man was removed from the building and transported to the Glace Bay Hospital by EHS, where he died from his injuries.
Police say he was the only person in the residence. His name will not be released until all family members have been notified.
The residence is a duplex unit and the occupants of the other unit received no injuries as a result of the fire.
An investigation will be completed by members from the Fire Marshal’s Office and the CBRPS Identification Section to determine the cause of the fire.
