Alleged kidnapping leads to four arrests in Elmsdale

Two Shelburne County men have been charged after being allegedly being involved in a  race on Highway 103.


Four people have been arrested in connection with an apparent kidnapping in Elmsdale.

According to a release, RCMP from Enfield, Indian Brook and Rawdon responded to a report of a kidnapping at gunpoint around 5:45 p.m. Aug. 5 and found the victim alone on a private road in Lantz.

Soon afterwards, officers found a suspect vehicle in a Lantz subdivision and arrested the four male occupants.

The investigation revealed that a kidnapping did take place, but there were no firearms involved and the victim wasn’t hurt. It is not considered a random act.

No charges have been laid, but the case remains under investigation.
