Truck catches fire after crashing into several vehicles in Dartmouth used-car lot

Halifax police are investigating a crash involving one truck that damaged several vehicles in Dartmouth.

RCMP and Halifax Regional Police were dispatched to Albro Lake Road for a motor vehicle collision just after 11 p.m. July 1. Responding officers arrived to find HRM firefighters dealing with a pickup truck in flames and the truck driver being treated by paramedics.

A release from police states that the male driver crashed the truck into several other vehicles on a car lot, and was detained by a concerned citizen until police and paramedics arrived.

Investigators are still looking into whether alcohol played a role in the accident.

A 19-year-old man received treatment of minor injuries at the Dartmouth General Hospital. He’s facing charges that include theft of a motor vehicle and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
