Fire danger moderate to low in western Nova Scotia

The current ratings for fire conditions in western Nova Scotia counties are low to moderate. 

Department of Natural Resources' fire index map is updated each afternoon and shows "the potential level of wildfire intensity should one break out.

Camp and brush fires are not allowed after 8 a.m. during wildfire season. The ratings for July 16 showed burning was allowed between 2 p.m. and 8 a.m., subject to municipal bylaws.

 Check the BurnSafe map at 2 p.m. daily for where and when fires are allowed.
