Halifax Regional Police say they have found the owner of a sum of money found May 30 in Halifax.
Shortly after 1 p.m. May 30, an officer located an item in the Quinpool Road area. Upon closer examination, a sum of money was located inside the item along with other things; however, there was nothing to identify the owner. The officer checked local businesses and did not find any information in relation to the item or its owner.
June 3, one day after police out a call for public help finding the person who lost the money, a woman contacted police to claim ownership.
Police say the woman was able to provide a description of the item the money was located in, the amount of money contained in the item and where it was lost.
