A house fire in Bible Hill Estates claimed the life of a 49-year-old woman on Tuesday. At about 5 p.m., RCMP and the Bible Hill Fire Brigade responded to a structure fire on Bob Lee Drive.

Police are investigating a fatal fire in a Nova Scotia community.

Around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, the RCMP and Bible Hill fire department were called to a house fire on Bob Lee Court.

The blaze was put out by firefighters, who then discovered the body of a 49-year-old woman.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation and the province’s medical examiner are fire marshall have been called.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Valley-Kemptown firefighters also assisted, while firefighters from Truro were on standby at the Bible Hill station.

RCMP, EHS and Nova Scotia Power were also on scene.
