Antigonish RCMP say a 14-year-old boy was charged with impaired driving after a single vehicle crash on Thursday evening.

Police say a driver lost control of his vehicle along Clydesdale Road around 6:35 p.m. and the vehicle landed in the ditch.

The boy, who was the only person in the vehicle, was not injured.

A Clydesdale area teen faces charges of impaired driving, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit and taking a motor vehicle without consent of the owner.

He was released from custody and will appear in Antigonish youth court on July 16, 2014.

The investigation continues.
