Halifax police say they believe there are people with information that could lead to arrests connected to a 10-year-old murder that still has not been laid to rest.
Police said March 28 they are continuing to investigate the killing of Kevin James Petrie, on the 10-year anniversary of his death.
On March 28, 2004, officers were called to a home on Spruce Street about a man in medical distress. He was taken to hospital and later died.
An investigation revealed Petrie had been the victim of a home invasion and serious assault March 17 on Pleasant Street.
Police said they believe the assault was a contributing factor in his death, fewer than two weeks later.
Police are asking anyone with any information about the unsolved murder to contact the police or call Crime Steppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
This case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program.
