A 33-year-old Torbook man must answer to multiple charges after police seized a loaded .22 calibre handgun and a substance believed to be cocaine during a recent home search.

Annapolis District RCMP, with assistance from the Kings District Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Kings District RCMP, searched a residence on Torbrook Road Jan. 20.

“Police seized a loaded .22 calibre hand gun, ammunition, a crossbow, and a substance believed to be cocaine,“ said Nova Scotia RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Clarke in a press release issued Jan. 23.

Stephen Alan Dorey was arrested at the scene without incident. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and multiple weapons-related offences.

Dorey appeared in Digby provincial court Jan. 22, and was released on conditions.

“The investigation is ongoing,” said Clarke.
