The Lifeflight helicopter was on scene shortly after 4 p.m. and took off at 4:23 p.m. The divided highway allowed for vehicles to continue heading west. East-bound traffic was detoured at Exit 10, Grand Pré, to Exit 8A. Traffic was lined up close to a kilometre, both on the highway and on the ramp.
