GREENWOOD – Two women have been arrested and charged with robbery and wearing disguises following a March 21 robbery of the pharmacy inside Sobeys in Greenwood.

Erica Lynn Patterson, 34, of Greenwood and Salinda Alys Hudson, 38, of Wilmot, are each facing two charges in connection with the event after an investigation led by Kings District RCMP and assisted by both Kings District General Investigation Section and RCMP Police Dog Service.

The investigation led to the arrest of Hudson on March 23, who was present in Kentville provincial court in custody on March 26. Judge Alan Tufts agreed to her release on a $3,000 non-cash recognizance with two sureties.

Her matters have been adjourned to April 24 for election and plea.

Patterson, who RCMP say turned herself in to police March 30, was remanded into custody and appeared in Windsor provincial court April 3 and was also released.

Her case was also adjourned to April 24 for election and plea.

Hudson is charged with stealing prescription medication from the Sobeys pharmacy while armed with an offensive weapon, a knife, and having her face masked with intent to commit the indictable offence of robbery.

It’s alleged that Hudson committed the offences in Greenwood on March 21. The charges have not been proven in court.

According to a March 22 news release from the RCMP, a woman entered the grocery store at approximately 8:10 p.m. the previous evening and handed the pharmacists a note demanding prescription drugs and money.

The woman, who had her face covered, told one pharmacist that she had a knife. She fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of prescription medication, contin and hydromorphone pills.
