GREENWOOD, NS - Two people are under arrest after someone attempted to steal items by smashing the glass in a store display case using a hammer.

Kings RCMP were called to a theft in progress at a Greenwood department store April 19 at 9:53 a.m. The suspect, police say, was using a hammer to break the glass display cases and steal items inside.

When police arrived at the scene, the suspect had fled in a small black car. A short time later, RCMP officers located the car and arrested the two occupants without incident. The vehicle has been seized.
