COLDBROOK, NS – The RCMP is looking for public input after a suspicious car fire on Oct. 24 in Coldbrook remains unsolved.
A preliminary investigation determined the fire started in a newer-model Chevrolet truck, parked in a residential parking lot, around 12:30 a.m. RCMP and Kentville Volunteer Fire Department both responded to the incident.
Second Deputy Chief Scott Hamilton was among the responding firefighters, and said the fire started under the hood of the truck, which he described as a half-tonne.
“The fire started there and then spread to the shed it was parked next to,” he said.
“It was easily extinguished, and caused minimal damage to one shed wall and the roof area, causing a small hole.”
An eyewitness also saw an individual standing in a wooded area near the parking lot, but couldn’t see any distinguishing feature due to darkness.
Anyone with information on this incident should call Kings District RCMP at 902-679-5555.
