BARRIO LAKE, N.S.- Meteghan RCMP responded to a distress call at Barrio Lake in Digby County on Sept. 15 at 10 a.m.. Two men were reported to be on the lake in a canoe and had fallen out.
Searchers and volunteer firefighters rescued one man after patrolling the lake on boats but they were not able to find the second man.
The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team was brought in to assist with the search. They attended the scene on September 16 and 17 and did not locate the missing person. They are attending the area again today in hopes of locating him.
The investigation is ongoing.
