GREENWOOD, NS – Kings District RCMP is asking for help in locating an attempted robbery suspect who allegedly attempted to rob an ATM user Jan. 31 in Greenwood.

A 17-year-old man was using the Scotiabank ATM on Central Ave in Greenwood at 9:16 p.m. when a man allegedly came up to him, told him he was carrying a weapon, and demanded he withdraw all funds from his bank account.

The young man refused, and the alleged assailant ran away empty handed.

The victim did not see a weapon at any point during the incident.

RCMP describe the suspect as a white male in his twenties, approximately 6-foot-3-inches in height, weighing 180 pounds, wearing a blue quilted jacket with the hood up and a camouflaged mask across his mouth.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the individual. Kings District RCMP were on scene after the incident with the RCMP Police Dog Services and were unable to find anything leading to his whereabouts.
