KENTVILLE - A woman was transported to Valley Regional Hospital after being struck by a pickup truck while walking near the intersection for Aberdeen and Webster Street.

The collision occurred in the busy downtown Kentville intersection shortly after 3 p.m. Dec. 20.

“Police attended and assisted the woman, and she was transported to Valley Regional Hospital by way of ambulance with some minor injuries,” said Insp. Darryl Brown.

The investigation into the cause is ongoing, Brown said.

Offering general safety tips for winter and holiday driving conditions, Brown said it is important to be mindful and ensure vehicles are properly cleared of ice and snow to allow for good visibility.

“This time of year we’ve got a lot of pedestrian traffic, a lot of motor vehicle traffic and people have to be mindful of their surroundings when they’re on the road.”
