WEST HANTS, N.S. — RCMP officers and first responders are at the scene of a fatal two-vehicle accident on Avondale Road.
The call for assistance came in shortly after 7 a.m.
The Nova Scotia RCMP are reporting that one person was confirmed dead at the scene. A second person was transported by EHS Life Flight to the QEII hosptial in Halifax with life-threatening injuries.
Avondale Road is currently closed at Ferry Road and traffic is being detoured. The road is expected to be closed for most of the day while an RCMP collision analyst collects evidence.
