New Minas men facing cocaine trafficking charges following search of home

Two New Minas men have been charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking following the search of a home.

NEW MINAS, NS - Two New Minas men have been arrested and charged after police searched a home and seized cocaine.

With assistance from the Kings District RCMP, the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit searched a Sumac Avenue, New Minas, home on Nov. 2 as part of an ongoing investigation. Police seized a quantity of cocaine as the result of the search.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, both from New Minas, without incident. They have each been charged with one count of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Both men were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Kentville provincial court on Dec. 19.

The Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit consists of members of the Kentville Police Service and the Kings District RCMP.
