KENTVILLE, NS – A New Minas man charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking after his vehicle was searched in Greenwich will be back in court in December.

Jonathan Ross Allen, 28, appeared in Kentville provincial court on Nov. 7. The Crown consented to Allen’s release on his own $5,000 non-cash recognizance. The matter has been adjourned to Dec. 19 for election and plea.

According to a news release from the RCMP, the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit stopped Allen on Highway 1 in Greenwich on Nov. 6 with assistance from the Windsor Street Crime Enforcement Unit and the Kings District RCMP.

The planned stop was part of an ongoing investigation and resulted in the seizure of 165 grams of cocaine found inside the vehicle. The RCMP arrested Allen at the scene.

The charge against Allen has not been proven in court.
