HORTONVILLE, NS - Multiple fire departments are on the scene of a house fire in Hortonville.

Firefighters were called to the home on King Street around 11 a.m. March 6. Thick smoke can be seen rolling out of the home from Highway 101. At times, the smoke made it almost impossible to see across King Street.

Wolfville firefighters called on several neighbouring departments for mutual aid to fight the fire. Windy conditions are making the fire a difficult one to fight and firefighters are bringing in tankers of water to help battle the blaze.

Power was cut to the structure due to the fire, along with many of the surrounding homes. According to the Nova Scotia Power outage map, approximately 46 customers are impacted by the outage. Power is not expected to be restored until mid-afternoon.
