Time served for recognizance offence
Kaz Henry Cox, 39, of East River, Lunenburg County, has been sentenced to time in custody deemed served for failing to comply with his recognizance.
Cox was present in Kentville provincial court in custody on Aug. 15, when he changed his plea to guilty. Cox was sentenced to 30 days in custody but was given credit at time-and-a-half for 20 days spent remanded in custody, deeming the 30 days served.
Cox committed the offence in Windermere on Dec. 30, 2017.
Time deemed served
Travis Darrell Seyforth, 30, of Greenwood, has been sentenced to time in custody deemed served for failing to comply with his recognizance.
Seyforth changed his plea to guilty on Aug. 16. Judge Christopher Manning sentenced Seyforth to 15 days in custody deemed served.
Seyforth committed the offence in Kingston on May 25.
Recognizance offences, possessed stolen property
Michael Stephen Ross, 27, of New Minas, has been sentenced to time in custody deemed served for two counts of failing to comply with his recognizance – by failing to keep the peace and to be of good behaviour and by failing to remain in his residence at all times unless being accompanied by a surety – and for possessing stolen electronics of a value not exceeding $5,000.
Ross pleaded guilty to the three charges on Aug. 14 and was sentenced to one day in custody deemed served on each count.
Ross committed the offences in New Minas on June 29.
Breathalyser offence
Donald Maria Ueffing, 56, of New Minas, has been fined for operating a motor vehicle while his ability to do so was impaired by alcohol or a drug.
Ueffing pleaded guilty to the charge on Aug. 14. Judge Christopher Manning fined Ueffing a total of $1,950 and handed him a one-year driving prohibition.
Ueffing committed the offence in New Minas on May 19. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. Ueffing gave breathalyser readings of 210 and 210.
Breathalyser offence
Derek Matthew Damian Milne, 24, of Kentville, has been fined for operating a motor vehicle while his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.
Milne pleaded guilty to the charge on Aug. 14. Judge Christopher Manning fined Milne a total of $1,300 and imposed a one-year driving prohibition against him.
Milne committed the offence in Greenwich on May 27. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. Milne gave breathalyser readings of 120 and 120.
Undertaking offence
Rita Colleen Banks, 45, of Middleton, has been handed a suspended sentence with probation for failing to comply with her undertaking.
Banks pleaded guilty to the charge on Aug. 14. Judge Christopher Manning handed Banks a suspended sentence with nine months of reporting probation and fined her $100 in victim surcharges.
Banks committed the offence in Kentville between Dec. 6, 2017, and Feb. 9.
Drove without insurance
Jason Joseph Jesso-Hill, 22, of North Kentville, has been fined for driving without insurance.
Jesso-Hill pleaded guilty to the charge on Aug. 14 and was fined a total of $1,272.50.
Jesso-Hill committed the offence in New Ross on June 20, 2017. A charge of driving a motor vehicle without a valid inspection sticker and without a valid inspection certificate for the vehicle in his possession was withdrawn on Aug. 14.
