Possession for the purpose of trafficking, assault

Murric Matheson Drysdale, 18, of Walton, will serve a term of imprisonment in the community for possessing cannabis marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and assault.

Drysdale pleaded guilty to the possession for the purpose of trafficking charge on Feb. 6 and pleaded guilty to the assault charge on April 18. The matters were adjourned to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing.

Drysdale was present in Windsor provincial court on May 12. Judge Alan Tufts handed him a one-year conditional sentence order with house arrest for the first three months on the two charges. Drysdale was fined a total of $300 in victim surcharges.

Drysdale committed the offences in Windsor on Sept. 21, 2016, and on Feb. 24.

Breathalyser offence

Sheila Elizabeth Harris, 49, of Windsor, has been sentenced to probation and fined for operating a motor vehicle while her blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.

Harris pleaded guilty to the charge on May 15. Judge Alan Tufts sentenced her to nine months of probation, fined her $1,300 and imposed a one-year driving prohibition against her.

Harris committed the offence in Windsor on March 14. The legal blood alcohol limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. Harris gave breathalyser readings of 190 and 190.

Conditional sentence order

Randolph Christopher Toney, 28, of Cambridge was handed a six month conditional sentence in provincial court recently and one-year's concurrent probation, along with a three-year firearms prohibition and a $100 victims’ services fine.

Toney was charged after an incident between June 17 and 18, 2016, in Cambridge. He entered guilty pleas to possession of a dangerous weapon, a baseball bat, and assaulting a woman.
